Diena Henry - owner/director
- Diena Henry is an associate and member of the B.A.T.D. (British Association of Teachers of Dancing). She opened her school in the fall of 1995. Since that time, she has been very active with her academy with teaching classes, holding workshops and travelling to many competitions
to support her students. She has taken 25 of her pupils to Scotland on two separate competitive tours. She looks forward to their next competative tour in the summer of 2008. Brigadoon has branched out in the last few years. Besides highland dance, traditional national dance and character
national dance, we also offer classes in musical theatre, voice, piano and piping.
- In 2005 & 2006, Diena was a top three finalist with the Chamber of Commerce, for individual arts and cultural business excellence
- Diena resides in Nanaimo with her husband Charles and two young sons, Marshall and Stirling.

Kristina Brow
- Kristina has achieved both her Associate and Member diplomas from the British Association of Teachers of Dancing.
- In the year of 2004/2005, Kristina was absolutely astounded to become the Nanaimo Ambassador Queen.
- This program consisted of community service, public speaking, empowerment workshops and a pageant night with entitled each candidate to prepare a speech, a talent and answer an impromptu question.
- In the summer of 2005, she had the opportunity to travel to Scotland to dance, for a two and a half week competitive tour.
- She was thrilled to come home with thirteen medals and the thoughts and memories of traveling to the homelands of highland dance.
- Kristina is currently a full time student at Malaspina University College.
- She is enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and will happily graduate in 2010.
- Kristina's goal with her students is to help them to reach their full potential and become the best dancer they can possibly be.

Ethan Meservia
- Ethan has been teaching piano for the past two years, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to expand his teaching to the studio.
- He is a classically trained student, and has completed many levels of Royal Conservatory of Music exams in both piano and music theory.
- The John Barsby Band has allowed Ethan to extend his music style to Jazz and participate in the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho.
- Ethan has been a student at the Brigadoon Dance Academy since he began dancing at the age of eight.
- Last June he acquired his Associate Teacher's of Dance certificate.

Madeline Hunter
- 2006 4th runner up at the B.C. Provincial Closed Championships
- 2006 Calgary,Alberta Scotdance Canada Championship Series: Madeline won 4th and a 6th in the national challenge class
- 2006 Became an Associate Teacher Dance Professional with the B.A.T.D.
- 2005 3rd runner up at the B.C. Provincial Closed Championships
- 2005 represented B.C. at the Canadian Highland Dance Championships in Antigonish, Nova Scotia
- 2005 won the Pre Championship in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, 3 Gold and a Silver
- 2005 won the North American B.A.T.D. Senior Title and scholarship, held in British Columbia
- 2002 won the North American B.A.T.D. Junior Title and scholarship, held in Las Vegas
Madeline is a full time Theatre Major at Malaspina University College. She also teaches classes at Brigadoon Dance Academy and is still actively taking lessons and competing. The spring of 2007 will be her first year competing in the adult championship class. |
